VCB160.co.uk

Welcome to VCB160.co.uk, a site entirely focused on the scooters that appear in a film called Quadrophenia, made in 1979. VCB 160 was the number plate that belonged on a Vespa GS 150 scooter owned by a fictional character called Ace Face. Ace, was a MOD, played by the musician and actor Sting, AKA Gordon Sumner. During the film the Vespa is stolen by the films central character Jimmy Cooper, another Mod, who aspires to be like Ace Face.

Originally, this site started out primarily based on just Sting's Vespa GS, however as the site has grown my interest has spread and more information regarding the other scooters has surfaced and been included.

Please click on any of the above links to proceed. I hope you enjoy the website.

MOMA Vespa GS

The Museum of Modern Art in New York is well known for its extensive collection of Modern Art and is arguably the best museum of its kind in the world.

In a display of 20th century artefacts, specifically highlighting many design classics, I was pleased to stumble across a Vespa GS 150. Finished in silver it was completely original and factory standard, just like Sting's would have been before the modifications.
